The object of this popular casino game is to beat the dealer without going over 21. Two cards are dealt to each player as well as the dealer. You are then permitted to receive hit cards to strengthen your total and increase the likelihood of outscoring the dealer. Face cards have a value of 10, Aces are valued as 1 or 11, and cards from 2 through 9 are valued as indicated. You may split Aces one time and any other pair to make up to four hands. Players are allowed to double down for any amount up to the original bet amount. Doubling down allows you to double your bet and receive one additional card to the hand, except on hands of 21. Any combination of 10 and Ace are considered blackjack, which pays 3-2. All other bets are even money. Insurance is offered at a rate of 2-1. This bet allows you to protect your original wager if the dealer is showing an Ace and you believe there is a 10 in the hole. You may wager up to 1/2 your original bet for insurance.
